Gabriel Wells

Gabriel Wells was born on July 19, 2012. He was a true momma’s boy, and from the moment he came into this world, he made life perfect. Gabe loved playing basketball with his friends and older brother, battling it out on NBA 2K and Mortal Kombat, and spending hours on his Oculus playing Gorilla Tag. He was such a sweet boy—always willing to help and do anything for anybody.
Even though he and his younger brother would fight like brothers do, the two of them shared a deep bond. They were best friends for so long, and their laughter and adventures together filled the house with joy. Gabe was also blessed to live in England for over five years, where he traveled across Europe—seeing the Eiffel Tower, the London Bridge, visiting Germany, and tasting Belgian chocolate in Belgium.
When we learned he had cancer, Gabe faced it with incredible courage. He fought Stage 4 Osteosarcoma with a strength that inspired everyone around him. Even through treatment, he laughed, tried to play games with his brother, and kept being the amazing kid he always was. He would joke about being okay with losing his leg if it meant he could have a “robot leg” and still play in the NBA.
Gabe also had a strong faith. He loved going to church and loved Jesus deeply. One of the most beautiful moments of his life was when he was baptized just two weeks before he passed. Watching the pain leave his body and a calm wash over him was an unforgettable sight.
Gabriel will always be our hero. He taught us how to be better parents, how to love deeper, and how to find strength in the hardest moments. We cannot wait for the day we see him again in heaven—whole, free from cancer, and filled with joy.
